19th JANUARY LAKE WYARALONG for a Paddle, Sail or Row Host: Jim Jones From Brisbane, take the Mount Lindesay Highway, turn right on to Telemon Street, then turn right on Bromelton St. Travel on to Boonah-Beaudesert road, travel for approximately 10kms, turn right on to Wyaralong Dam Access Road and continue through the gate to the Meebun Recreational Area..
Trailer parking and the boat ramp are located to the North of the Recreational Area. The area is open from 5:30am to 6:30pm. Activities allowed are, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, sailing, fishing (permit required) and electric powered boating. Sorry no Seagulls allowed!! The facilities at the Meebun Recreation Area include picnic tables, shelters sheds and barbeques. There is also a playground to keep the kids amused. Just to the North is the boat ramp down a long, steep road. The shoreline is grassy with the occasional rocky outcrop. As the area is only serviced by tank water, it is recommend that visitors bring their own drinking water supplies. To the South of the Recreation Area is the Queensland Rowing Facility. There does not appear to be any scheduled rowing events for the 19th. Bring your morning tea and a picnic or BBQ lunch.
